Condolence: Joe and I worked together at Birchtree and at Thompson mine.....for a lot of years. He was up front and honest with his crews and always went the extra step for them.
Solid, dependable and good to be around. Joe will be missed.
Condolence: Sincere sympathy on behalf of Mom(Terry Vielfaure). Mom & Dad talked so often about the boys who worked in the restaurant! I remember them speaking about Joe as well as meeting him when I was young. Mom sends her love to you Mary, & your family.
Condolence: Our condolences to the Thevenot Family. Having grown up in the Altamont area, I knew Joe from baseball matches with Somerset in the mid-fifties. We met again when our family moved to Thompson in '71, I volunteered with Joe coaching Tom Thumb Hockey. Joe had a great personality and was always available to help his community, his church, and kid's sport programs. May you rest in peace, Joe. Ted and Dianne Scoles, Winnipeg
Condolence: Dearest Mary and all your children. It is so true that the more enriched a person makes our lives, the harder it is to let them go. For this reason,I know that saying goodbye to your loving husband and wonderful father to your children is one of the hardest sorrows to bear. I am praying to Jehovah that the wonderful memories that you have of your husband as well as the love of family and friends that you have around you, will give you some comfort and support to get you threw this time of great loss. He well be sorely missed by all. You have my deepest sympathy.
Condolence: In the course of Paul's career, we tend to move every four or five years. We've always been blessed with good neighbours and Joe and Mary were certainly no exception to this. The kids remember our Thompson neighbours as "the ones who gave us homemade cookies"! We are all very saddened to hear of Joe's passing but Paul and I are grateful that we were able to visit with Joe for a few minutes when we made a whirlwind trip to Thompson last summer. Rest in Peace, Joe. You will always be thought of fondly!
Condolence From: Nelson & Faye Jean Parkes & Family
Condolence: Joe was a kind man whom we were fortunate to meet. We visited with him & Mary at their home on a couple of short holidays back to Thompson. How Joe set his goals and poured out his compassion in life is just that which we see instilled and reflected now in his family. They devote and care deeply for their families too. No doubt that his legend will never fade.
May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort in knowing that we are thinking of them with love and support.
