Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, auntie, cousin, Effie died peacefully in her home at Split Lake with family & friends at her bed side on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 9:08 p.m.
Effie was born & raised in Split Lake. She was a proud member of the Women’s Auxiliary group, choir member of the St. John’s Anglican Church. In her younger years, she stayed behind from school to help her parents with daily chores and also her grandpa John. She was a very hard worker and worked for our local constables, Kelsey dam, North/South Consultants. She often took in foster children into her home. Loved her bead working and spend her evenings with friends at the EPH playing cards, cooking, travelling with her girls to camping/beach. She loved giving a helping hand whenever needed and made efforts to partake in special occasions.
She leaves to mourn her passing her child Ida Marie Beardy, grandson Jonah Lee Dane Beardy & foster children Ashley, Alicia and Tehya Robinson. Siblings: Nancy Flett, Evelyn (Edwin) Beardy, Freddy (Edna) Beardy, Marlene (Tommy) Spence, George (Melinda) Beardy, James (Elenor), Alana (Douglas) Kitchekeesik, Arlene (Lyle). Aunties & Uncles: Mina Sinclair, Justine (Josh) Spence, Elenor (Russell) Moose & John Joseph Beardy. Granny: Rhoda Beardy. Nieces & Nephews: Susan, Darlene, Herman, Richard, Belinda (David), Mandy (Joe), Ronald (Pam), Lisa (Desmond), Lauren, Wade, Irvin, Melissa, Sherry, Skye, Nolan, Jessica, Harlem, Janessa, Thayne, Davinity, Lyle Jr, Gilea, Becky, Landys, Shanaya, Colten, Sunni & Tessa. Plus, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, & friends.
Effie was predeceased by her son Terrence Beardy. Parents: David & Gilea Beardy. Grandparents: John & Ida Kirkness, Jehu & Effie (Harvey) Beardy. Aunties & Uncles: Daniel (Eunice) Kirkness, Abraham, Eliza (Jonas) Flett, Mary, Peggy, Nancy (Joseph) Morris, Roba (Charles) Morris, Adelaide (Alex) Flett, Charlotte (Kenneth) Wastesicoot, Albert Sinclair. Brother in-law: James Flett. Cousins: Thelma Garrioch, William Kirkness, Donald & Marlene Flett, Maggie Mayham, Randy Morris, Mary Humby, Bernice Flett, Beverly & Theresa Lynn Wastesicoot, Belinda Sinclair. Nieces: Lorna Cook & Mallory Beardy. Nephews: Brent Beardy, Leroy Kirkness, Mikey McKay & Joshua Morris. Still missing: Andrew Flett & Abraham Flett. Forgive us if we forget anyone.
